Our client, a highly respected educational institution located in Hemel Hempstead, is seeking a talented and dedicated part-time SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting the academic and personal growth of students with diverse learning needs.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating an inclusive and nurturing environment that fosters the success of our students. Working alongside our experienced teachers, you will provide personalised support and guidance to ensure that each student receives the attention and resources they need to thrive.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
- Assisting students with special educational needs or disabilities in the classroom, both individually and in small groups, to help them achieve their learning objectives.
- Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement tailored learning plans that cater to the unique needs and strengths of each student.
- Providing one-on-one support and guidance to students, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and build confidence in their abilities.
- Monitoring and evaluating student progress, regularly communicating with teachers and parents to ensure that each student's needs are being met.
- Participating in the planning and delivery of engaging and inclusive learning activities, using a variety of teaching methods and resources to support student learning.
- Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes respect, understanding, and a love of learning.
- Attending training sessions and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with special educational needs.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills
- A minimum of one year of experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a SEND setting.
- A strong understanding of the principles of inclusive education and the diverse needs of students with special educational needs or disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the academic and personal growth of all students.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in using various assistive technologies and learning resources to support students with special educational needs.
- A relevant qualification in education, such as a Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent.
In return for your hard work and dedication, our client offers a competitive salary of £85.50 - £100 per day, as well as a supportive and inclusive work environment. This is a part-time position, with the opportunity to work flexible hours that fit with your schedule.
