This Year 4 Teaching Assistant role is set within a welcoming and well-organised primary environment where pupils benefit from clear routines, positive relationships, and consistent support. Year 4 Teaching Assistant

  • Support the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons for Year 4 pupils
  • Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning and boost progress
  • Assist pupils with varying needs, including those requiring additional academic or emotional support
  • Help prepare classroom resources and maintain an organised learning environment
  • Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development
  • Supervise pupils during lessons, interventions, and other school activities
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and a positive attitude to learning
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school policies at all times

Ideal Year 4 Teaching Assistant

  • Has experience working with Key Stage 2 pupils, ideally within a Year 4 setting
  • Demonstrates a calm, patient, and supportive approach
  • Works well as part of a team and follows teacher guidance effectively
  • Has strong communication skills and builds positive relationships with pupils
  • Shows flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to supporting pupil progress
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and inclusive practice
