We're recruiting an experienced Production Assembly Technician (Mechanical) to join a busy production team in Buntingford. This is a stable temp-to-perm opportunity offering consistent weekday hours, paid overtime, a late shift premium, and training/development.

Shift pattern (rotating)

Early shift

07:30 - 16:00

Late shift

13:00 - 22:00 (to be introduced shortly)

You will start on the early shift initially, then rotate early/late once the late shift is introduced. A shift premium of £1.50 per houris paid for hours worked after 16:00 on the late shift.

Key responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies accurately to specification
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring equipment
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure tolerance and finish requirements are met
  • Report non-conformances and support corrective actions
  • Complete assembly records/paperwork as required
  • Follow H&S procedures and maintain a tidy work area

Requirements

  • Previous experience in mechanical assembly (or similar manufacturing/assembly role)
  • Able to read basic engineering drawings and follow written instructions
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity
  • Reliable/punctual and able to work rotating early and late shifts
  • Comfortable standing for long periods and doing light to moderate lifting
  • Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
