About this role
Main Duties and Responsibilities The role will include, but is not limited to: Welcoming and assisting patients at reception and over the telephone. Responding to enquiries from patients, healthcare professionals, and external organisations. Using the practice clinical system to process prescriptions, patient registrations, appointment bookings, and a variety of administrative tasks. Supporting specialist administrative areas, including e-Referrals, medical reports, patient record summarising, childhood immunisation administration, and cervical screening programmes. Assisting patients with enquiries relating to appointments, prescriptions, and test results. Scanning and accurately processing documentation into patient records. Processing repeat prescription requests and related enquiries. Registering new patients and maintaining accurate patient records. Supporting referral management and other patient recall systems. Working collaboratively with GPs, nurses, management, and the wider practice team to support service improvements and practice development. Personal Development Complete all mandatory training requirements. Participate in ongoing learning and development opportunities. Maintain and develop knowledge relevant to the role. Team Working Contribute positively to a supportive and collaborative team environment. Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues. Identify opportunities to improve processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and patient experience. Health, Safety and Confidentiality Adhere to Practice policies relating to health and safety, infection prevention, and security. Undertake opening and closing procedures when required. Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with data protection and NHS guidelines. The successful candidate will therefore be expected to demonstrate flexibility and undertake additional duties appropriate to the role, as requested by the Senior Patient Care Co-ordinator, Management Team, or GP Partners.
