Clinical Educator - Oncology and Haematology

To take charge of the clinical area in the absence of the Ward/Department Sister/ Charge Nurse. Act as a resource for the support and guidance of staff in the clinical field, encourage further development of the skills and to ensure cohesion and effective team working. To ensure nurses are facilitated to develop the skills required to undertake nursing practice at the specific grade in which they are employed Explore creative approaches to professional development in order to meet individual learning needs. Provide supervision, teaching and support for individuals in the clinical area. Work with senior management team in r response to service need and appraisal process, identify and address staff development requirements. To pursue academic excellence in nursing, contributing to the development to the development of students, nurses and the curriculum. With nursing colleagues and multi-disciplinary team, nurture the development of an environment which supports and encourages personal and professional growth. In conjunction with Oncology & Haematology Senior Management Team assist in the planning and creation of training plans for the Directorate to develop an appropriately trained workforce. Co-ordinate the department orientation for all new staff. Initiate and facilitate learning opportunities within the clinical setting. To assist in the management of complaints in accordance with the Trusts Complaints procedure. Use leadership skills to create an environment that is safe and supportive to ensure effective teamwork and a motivated, efficient workforce.
