Highways Inspector

About this role

The job will include inspecting the public highway as required following reports of a possible defect on the highway and at agreed frequencies, to maintain the highway in a safe and usable condition to meet the council’s statutory obligations, coordinating routine, cyclical and adhoc inspections.

It will involve inspecting, collating, reporting and recording information; assessing condition of highway network, recommending remedial works; organising repairs and works and checking compliance with technical standards.

To liaising with the Highways Helpdesk, Members, customers and other stakeholders. To ensure efficient and effective delivery of the service to meet assigned Corporate, Directorate, Group and Unit objectives.
