Band 3 - Urology Diagnostic Unit Receptionist, Urology

About this role

The post-holder will be responsible for delivering an efficient and patient-centred reception service within the Urology Diagnostic Unit. This includes welcoming and booking in patients on arrival, checking referral details, updating electronic records, and ensuring all necessarydocumentation is complete and accurate. They will manage patient flow through the unit by coordinating appointment times, liaising closely with clinical staff, and responding promptly to changes in schedules or urgent clinical needs. The role includes handling telephone enquiries, providing clear information to patients and relatives, and signposting them appropriately. The receptionist will support the administrative function of the unit by preparing clinic lists, managing incoming correspondence,scanning and uploading documents, and maintaining confidentiality in line with Trust policies. They will also contribute to maintaining a safe and well-organised reception area, reporting problems, assisting with stock levels of administrative materials, and ensuring a professional and welcoming environment at all times.
