Paediatric Audiologist Development Post 5 to 6 | Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust

About this role

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, well-motivated and driven Paediatric Audiologist to join the Paediatric Audiology service at Hertfordshire Community Trust on a permanent basis.Experience is not necessary - we will provide all the required training to get you up and running as a confident paediatric audiologist.

The Paediatric Audiology service provides second and third tier services to children and young people living within the West Hertfordshire area. There are three sites from which clinics are held, Watford, St. Albans and Hemel Hempstead. The post holder will be expected to cover clinics at all three sites as needed, therefore afull valid driving licenseandaccess to a carto use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

The successful candidate will, after training

  • Lead children’s hearing assessment clinics aged 8months-18years
  • Use a range of tests for assessing children's hearing
  • Provide hearing aid management to children
  • Carefully manage the patient and their family through the audiology pathway
  • Communicate effectively with service users and other members of the team
  • Engage in peer reviews
  • Engage in audits and clinical governance tasks to ensure the department is continuously improving
  • Assist the Audiology Service Lead in the day to day management of the service
  • Take on operational responsibilities (with guidance) within the department
