About Discovery
Discovery exists to support people to live fulfilling lives, be equal in society, and play an active role in their local communities. This means having real choice and control—whether that's staying in or going out, building friendships, developing skills, or exploring new interests.
It's about living independently
managing a home, staying healthy, voting, and accessing opportunities like employment or volunteering.
At Discovery, you'll find more than a job—you'll find purpose, belonging, and the support to thrive. Your voice matters, your wellbeing is valued, and your development is encouraged. Together, we make a meaningful difference every day—for the people we support and for each other.
Thanks to our amazing teams, Dimensions Group has been accredited as a Great Place to Work for 2026 — our eighth consecutive year of recognition.
About the role
Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? As a Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in empowering individuals to live independently, build confidence, and achieve their personal goals—however big or small they may be.
This is a rewarding, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll provide practical support with day-to-day living, including cooking, cleaning, and personal care, while always promoting dignity, choice, and independence. Alongside this, you'll offer emotional support—encouraging the people you support to build relationships, engage in their communities, and enjoy meaningful activities.
You'll be part of a supportive, collaborative team, working together to deliver person-centred support that truly reflects each individual's needs, preferences, and aspirations. Keeping accurate records and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of those you support will be key aspects of your role.
We're looking for someone who is flexible and committed, able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays. In return, you'll have the opportunity to build a career where compassion, respect, and making a difference are at the heart of everything you do.
About you
To thrive as a Support Worker in this home, you will be someone who is compassionate, reliable, and genuinely motivated to make a positive difference in people's lives. You don't need previous experience in social care, but you do need the right values, the willingness to learn, and the confidence to support individuals to live the life they choose.
You'll bring strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with the people you support, their families, and your colleagues. A good Support Worker here is patient, calm under pressure, and able to adapt to different situations with empathy and professionalism. You'll also be proactive, observant, and comfortable encouraging people to develop their independence and try new things.
Basic IT skills are important, as you'll use digital systems for recording notes, completing training, and staying connected as part of the team. You'll show a commitment to your own learning and development, embracing the training we provide to ensure you feel confident and equipped in your role.
Most importantly, you'll be someone who brings positivity, kindness, and respect to every interaction, helping create a safe, supportive, and happy environment for the people who live here.
