About the role
We are looking for a reliable and customer focused Caretaker (Schemes) to join our Estate Services team.
This is a key role within our housing schemes, where you will be responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming communal
environments for residents. Working within buildings that include shared spaces and facilities, you will play an important part in
delivering a high standard of service and supporting the day to day running of the scheme.
What you’ll be doing
As a Scheme Caretaker, you will ensure communal areas are well maintained and residents feel safe and supported. Your duties will
include
* Cleaning communal areas such as corridors, stairwells, entrances, and lifts
* Maintaining bin stores, refuse areas, and ensuring they are clean and operational
* Removing litter, bulky waste, and supporting fly tipping clearance
* Maintaining communal lighting and carrying out minor maintenance tasks
* Supporting the management of environmental issues such as anti-social behaviour and nuisance within schemes
* Reporting repairs, hazards, and tenancy concerns using handheld devices
* Working with partner agencies where needed to resolve issues
* Supporting the smooth running of the scheme by working with colleagues and contractors
* Carrying out winter duties including snow clearance and gritting where required
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys working in a customer facing environment.
You will have
* Experience in caretaking, cleaning, or estate services
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* A proactive and practical approach to problem solving
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Experience using handheld devices, or willingness to learn
* A full UK driving licence
