About this role
Use specialist expertise underpinned by theory and experience to provide a high level of specialist technical and clinical expertise in a wide range of advanced diagnostic tests and procedures. To liaise effectively with service managers and other physiologists to provide a clinical physiological service. Ensuring a high level of clinical excellence and patient care. Performs transthoracic echocardiography, (TTE) using manual dexterity and precision, exercising specialist judgemental skills when acquiring images. To produce a full, accurate and comprehensive clinical reports independently for each study, which will directly affect patient care and/or management. Responsibility for own caseload. Responsible along with the other Band 7 Physiologist for the operational responsibility of the department on a day to day basis. This includes a clinical workload (i.e. performing and/or reporting on all the non-invasive tests) as well as day to day supervision of the junior staff. To take a leading role in staff development and training as required. Will need to successfully liaise on operational matters with the Heart Centre at Darent Valley Hospital.
