This role will involve supporting the Lead Pharmacist in our innovative large single site Stroke unit at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. Our stroke unit has been recently recognised nationally for providing outstanding service and praised for their clinical research collaboration.

The successful candidates will support the Lead and Specialist Pharmacist's within Stroke to provide patient centred-care and lead on projects that support the directorate achieve clinical, pharmaceutical or financial targets. Progression and development are key priorities for our department and this role is designed to support career progression from post-registration Foundation training through to Advanced Level Practice.

We also offer structured support for personal and professional growth, including access to a funded Postgraduate Clinical Diploma in Pharmacy Practice, and future support in gaining an Independent Prescribing qualification.

This post will be based at Eastbourne District General Hospital.

In this role, you will work closely with consultants, medical staff, midwives, nurses, pharmacy teams, and other healthcare professionals to provide clinical pharmacy services to the specialist area. You will also support the dispensary as needed and be part of the wider clinical pharmacy team.

This role will focus on providing a safe and effective clinical service to Stroke patients and a responsibility to become a Practice Supervisor for trainee pharmacists, pharmacy undergraduates, and rotational clinical pharmacists. The department will support the successful candidate in pursuing further professional development, with opportunities that align with both their career goals and the needs of the department.

Additionally, you will be expected to participate in the department’s weekend and on-call service on a rota basis after completing an orientation and induction period.
