08:30 - 17:00 (Flexible) - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

As Lead Contract Officer, you'll be at the heart of protecting our business by managing contractual and commercial risk across our projects and frameworks. Working within Kier Places, you'll lead a talented team whilst providing expert guidance on contract terms, ensuring we enter every agreement from the strongest possible position. What will you be responsible for?

As an Interim Lead Contract Officer, you'll be working within the Kier Places team, supporting them in delivering safe, compliant and commercially secure projects. Your day to day will include:

-Leading and managing the Contract Officer team, ensuring effective resource allocation and supporting business growth

-Managing the Permission to Proceed approval system, preparing reports and workflows for project tenders and framework opportunities

-Providing expert contractual advice throughout the project lifecycle, from tender stage through to delivery and completion

-Negotiating and resolving contract terms and conditions, liaising with Kier Legal and external stakeholders as needed

-Coordinating training and promoting commercial awareness across business units, ensuring compliance with Group standards and policies

-Act as an ambassador for Kier's standard contractual positions, promoting understanding and compliance across the business unit and Kier Group

-Support on larger subcontract packages of work management including Gateway reviews.

-Support on commercial claims, big risks and/or opportunities.

-Lead and support Business Unit training on contract awareness and specific contract requirements

What are we looking for?

This role of Lead Contract Officer is great for you if

-You have previous experience in a contracts-related role, such as Commercial Manager or Quantity Surveyor, ideally from a construction, residential or facilities management background

-You possess in-depth knowledge of various contract forms

-You have strong negotiation skills and can influence effectively across all levels of an organisation

-You're able to build collaborative relationships and support your team's development and wellbeing

-You have current knowledge of construction and/or facilities management law and can apply specialist legal and technical advice to protect commercial positions
