We are looking for a Casual Senior Support Worker to join our team at Tozer House. This role provides outcome-based care, promoting independence and we aim to enable every person to be engaged in their local community to the best of their ability.

About Tozer House
The people we support are involved in a range of activities in their local community that keep everyone connected with the neighbourhood.
Activities include
* Voluntary work with the Chichester Canal Trust
* Volunteering at the Cinnamon Trust with dog-walking for people who need
help with their four-legged friends
* Taking part in educational talks at Chichester College and the county's schools
* Joining the Community Art Project at Pallant House in Chichester
* Volunteering at Crimsham Farm in Pagham

Key skills (these will be used as shortlisting criteria)
- You are able to interpret information, such as service complaints, and redirect them to the appropriate person to provide quick and accurate resolution.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- You will show the ability to deal appropriately with expressive behaviour from the people we support and respond sensitively to their families and carers.
- Confident in building relationships with people from a wide variety of cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Enjoy working as part of a team completing shared tasks as required.
Qualifications / experience
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills, in order to record and document activities in the provider support plans.
- Basic understanding of the needs of the people we support and their rights as an individual.
- Demonstrable successful experience of working as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety practice, First Aid and Fire procedure, Manual Handling - Desirable
- NVQ 2/Diploma in Care or equivalent qualification - Desirable
- Previous experience of working in a care setting and with people who have a disability or are vulnerable - Desirable
- Previous experience of running group activities - Desirable
