About this role
Reception & Patient Care Act as the first point of contact for patients, both in person and via telephone Provide a welcoming, professional, and patient-focused service at all times Manage patient queries effectively, ensuring confidentiality is maintained Signpost patients to appropriate services in line with practice protocolsAppointments & Clinical Systems Book, amend, and cancel appointments using clinical systems (EMIS/SystemOne) Monitor appointment availability and escalate capacity issues when required Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of patient recordsAdministrative Support Provide administrative support to GPs, nurses, and the wider multidisciplinary team Process incoming and outgoing correspondence as required Support repeat prescription processes in line with practice procedures Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and manual recordsCommunication Liaise effectively with clinical and non-clinical staff Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, carers, and external agencies Handle difficult or sensitive situations with professionalism and empathyTeam Working Work collaboratively as part of the reception and admin team Support colleagues during busy periods and provide cover as needed Contribute to a positive and supportive team environmentConfidentiality & Compliance Maintain strict patient confidentiality in line with GDPR and NHS guidelines Adhere to all practice policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements Participate in training and continuous professional development
