About this role
1. The appointee will contribute to the clinical care of patients referred to the Haematology Department at both St Helier and Epsom General Hospitals. 2. Participate in 3 out-patient clinics per week. 3. The appointee will participate in the clinical rotas for the management of the inpatients at St Helier Hospital 4. The appointee will have an office with own desk and personal computer. They will have access to a microscope, including 2- and 6- headed microscopes for teaching purposes. 5. Dedicated secretarial support is provided by shared medical secretaries/patient pathway co-ordinators. 6. Responsible for advising all laboratory users, including general practitioners, on general haematology problems, as required. 7. This post also encompasses a lead role, to which 1 PA is allocated. This is currently planned to be the Haemato-Oncology MDT lead role. There will be an opportunity to review the division of responsibilities within Haematology once an appointment is made. The final job plan will reflect the agreed division between all the Consultants and the post holders area of expertise.
