We are looking for a Systems Administrator to join the IT Services team at Buckinghamshire College Group. This is a hands-on role responsible for the stability, security and performance of our college-wide infrastructure across three campuses: Aylesbury, Amersham and High Wycombe. We don't expect you to know everything from day one. We're looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, a genuine enthusiasm to learn and the confidence to take ownership of problems and see them through.

As a Systems Administrator, you will

  • Administer and maintain on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, including:
  • Microsoft Entra ID (SSPR, password writeback)
  • Microsoft Intune & Endpoint Manager
  • Active Directory & Group Policy
  • VMware ESXi hosts and SAN storage

Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure including VLAN segmentation, subnetting, ACLs and inter-VLAN routing

Maintain DNS zones and records, SSL certificates and firewall configurations

Write and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate account provisioning, AD synchronisation and device management via Intune Autopilot

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across network, server and application layers

Manage backup and disaster recovery processes, including iSCSI SANs and QNAP/Nimble storage
