About this role

· Management of multi-discipline contractors and consultants on site across a wide range of construction and engineering works.

· Undertake the duties of Project Manager including the co-ordination of Construction, Mechanical, Electrical and other specialist disciplines.

· Assist the project team with the project management of concurrent new works, refurbishment, building adaptation and conversion schemes ensuring that projects meet user’s requirements are completed on time, within budget and to acceptable quality standards in compliance with the Trusts standing orders, financial instructions, Trust policies and departmental procedures (see also Moves Management).

· Assist with the production of project initiation documents, including project execution plans, business cases, budgets, quality and risk assessments throughout the planning, design, tendering, documentation, reporting, financial approval, construction, commissioning and post-completion stages.

· Work together with managers and clinicians, nursing and procurement departments for service planning and equipment requirements to ensure continuity and integration of all aspects of capital projects is achieved and other multidisciplinary healthcare staff.

· Ensure that building surveys for physical condition including building structures, external fabric, internal fabric, roofs, internal fixtures, roads, footpaths, drainage and land and produce reports on the condition of properties, backlog costs and programme for remedial works.

· Produce regular status reports for capital projects and advise the Director / Head of Capital Programme regarding any early notice of programme or cost difficulties for delegated capital schemes.

· Will be required to undertake general administration and filing duties pertaining to capital projects, including minute taking, diary management and co-ordination of associated meetings.

· Advise the Head of Capital Programme with regards to authorisation of payments to contractors, completion and part completion certificates.

· Be responsible for the administration and raising of orders pertaining to capital projects, and to ensure that invoices are processed in line with the Trust’s SFIs .

· CIP & Financial monitoring – responsible for the completion and tracking of all Estates & Facilities milestones related to CIPs as instructed by the Head of Capital Programme

· Ensure that contractors have in place up-to-date risk assessments and method statements for particular schemes, prior to the commencement of work.

· Liaise with the Estates Maintenance contractor to ensure that relevant permits to work are issued in advance of work carried out by specified contractors, as appropriate.
