Consultant in Cancer Genetics | The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust

About this role

This is a part time, substantive post of 4 PAs in Cancer Genetics at the Royal Marsden Hospital. The consultant sessions will be based across both sites of the Royal Marsden.

The post holder will be responsible to Dr Zoe Kemp and accountable to Dr Emma Kipps – Director of Clinical Services.

The post is designed to support and facilitate the aspiration of the Royal Marsden Hospital to increase access to germline genetic testing. Building on the success of our mainstreaming model in breast and ovarian cancers, we are exploring digital technologies and transformation pathways at the RMH, Genomic Medicine Service and national levels. Testing is increasingly performed in Oncology with Cancer Genetics services providing support, whilst focusing their expertise on patients found to have a genetic predisposition to cancer

The postholder will be an integral member of the Cancer Genetics Unit and share consultant responsibility with consultant colleagues for Cancer Genetics patients at both Royal Marsden sites. They will have 1 out-patient clinic per week including supervision of Genetic Counsellors within that clinic and an additional ad-hoc telephone clinic for follow ups. There are no inpatient responsibilities.
