Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Building Support Assistant to join Newton Abbot Library. This role supports the day-to-day running of the building, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for visitors and staff.

Key Duties

  • Provide excellent customer service and assist members of the public.
  • Carry out minor maintenance and repair tasks such as basic fixtures and painting.
  • Maintain cleanliness of indoor and outdoor areas, including waste management.
  • Support the handling of challenging situations, including antisocial behaviour.
  • Assist with the smooth day-to-day operation of the library building.

Requirements

  • Friendly and confident when dealing with the public.
  • Practical and hands-on approach to basic maintenance tasks.
  • Calm and capable when managing challenging situations.
  • Physically fit due to lifting, bending, and manual tasks.
