About this role

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Midwife to join our band 7 team. You have the opportunity to join us at our brand-new Unit “The Beach” at Royal Bournemouth Hospital. We moved to our new unit in March 2025 and we are now fully integrated to life at the beach in Bournemouth.

The Maternity unit at Royal Bournemouth Hospital is the centre for all high-risk care in east Dorset and is fully equipped to meet the needs of women and babies with complications, as well as women with normal pregnancies and births. The Maternity Service provides comprehensive Care to women and their families with as much

choice as possible.3600 babies are delivered by our maternity staff each year, either at home or within the birth centre and labour ward in the hospital. The Maternity Service offers a traditional model of midwifery care with separate teams for the acute

and community service with on-going development of continuity models of care.

As the lead for antenatal clinic, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the clinic along side your MDT. Line manage the team and continually review the service for effectiveness and efficiency, whilst driving the service forward. You will also support your wider band 7 team, with covering as Operational coordinator and have a flexible approach to support all aspects of the maternity service.

UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview.

If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
