About this role

Come and join our friendly supportive Facilities Team at Weymouth Hospital, but also overseeing Portland Hospital & Littlemoor Health Centre.

We are looking for an experienced Supervisor to join our Team, working 30 hours per week, Monday -Friday working a pattern or combination of hours such as 0800-1400, 0900-1500, 1000-1600, but additional flexibility dependant on service need.

As Facilities Supervisor, you will need to be knowledgeable and experienced in cleaning processes, experience of healthcare of hospital cleaning is a bonus! You will need an understanding of COSHH and Infection Prevention and Control. A good Hands-on approach is crucial.

You will support the Facilities Manager, with the day-to-day management of the Facilities Team (Domestics, Porters & a small catering Team).

You will be responsible for carrying out audits, submission of estates maintenance requests, rota planning, cleaning scheduling and other office-based work, alongside hands-on Facilities work.

You will need experience of staff management. There will be an expectation to carry out Appraisals, one to ones, a degree of staff sickness management amongst other HR duties. All training and on-going support will be given.

A full UK Driving License is desirable.

You will be partly operational, potentially, part of the shift assisting and supporting the Domestic Team, or on occasion the Porter Team or Catering Team and the remainder of the shift, based in the Facilities Managers office, offering support to the FM, inputting orders, completing audits, checking staffing, stock control and various HR or staff management duties.

Assistance with recruitment, induction, staff probation and staff training will be necessary. Monitoring work methods, supporting in any changes in legislation that may impact on our services and being involved in the roll out of new products.

Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service can present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
