You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists, ensuring a holistic and well-supported approach to student development and wellbeing.

Located in the historic and well-connected city of Exeter, this role offers a competitive daily rate of £145.00 - £232.52, reflecting the value placed on experienced SEN professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of SEN pupils
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals to support individual student outcomes
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular feedback and updates
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to further enhance SEN teaching practice

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Previous experience working with SEN pupils, ideally within a supply or full-time teaching role
  • Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and best practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching and learning
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Flexibility to work full-time on a supply basis, with potential for long-term opportunities
