Our client, a leading educational institution in Taunton, Somerset, is seeking a full-time Behaviour Mentor to join their dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing compassionate and effective support to students, ensuring their academic success and personal growth.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Your primary focus will be to work closely with students, teachers, and parents to develop and implement tailored strategies that address behavioural challenges and promote positive behaviour.

The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of child and adolescent development, as well as extensive experience in behaviour management techniques. You will be a strong communicator, with the ability to build trusted relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

In this role, you will be based in Taunton, Somerset, and the salary range for this position is £92.59 - £100 per day. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Behaviour Mentor who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, addressing their behavioural, social, and emotional needs
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to create and implement individualized behaviour intervention plans
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour intervention strategies, making adjustments as necessary
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for teachers and parents on behaviour management techniques
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation related to student behaviour and the implemented interventions
  • Serve as a role model and mentor, promoting positive behaviour and social-emotional learning
  • Liaise with external agencies, such as social services and mental health professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to student support
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay up-to-date with best practices in behaviour management

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as education, psychology, or social work
  • Extensive experience (3+ years) working as a Behaviour Mentor or in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Thorough understanding of behaviour management theories and strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and policies related to student behaviour and safeguarding
  • Willingness to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
