The Service Manager will provide operational leadership for Alexandra Wellbeing House, a short-term mental health retreat service delivered by Swindon & Gloucestershire Mind in partnership with Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust. The service supports adults aged 18+ experiencing acute emotional distress and aims to provide earlier intervention, prevent escalation to crisis and reduce the need for inpatient admission. The successful candidate will lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of practitioners and counsellors to deliver safe, high-quality and person-centred support within a welcoming and recovery-focused environment.
Key responsibilities include
Leading the day-to-day operational management of Alexandra Wellbeing House. Providing leadership, supervision, support and development to staff and volunteers. Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred and trauma-informed mental health support. Working collaboratively with Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust, Crisis Teams, Community Mental Health Teams, Emergency Department teams and third-sector partners to strengthen referral pathways and improve outcomes. Supporting the ongoing development and enhancement of the service in collaboration with senior leadership and external partners. Managing safeguarding, risk assessment and incident reporting processes in line with organisational policies and procedures. Monitoring service quality, performance and outcomes, including producing reports for commissioners and stakeholders. Reviewing feedback from people accessing the service to support continuous improvement and best practice. Promoting a positive, inclusive and supportive culture for both staff and people using the service. Ensuring compliance with health and safety, data protection, safeguarding and organisational policies. Supporting partnership working, networking and promotion of the service across Gloucestershire. The role requires strong leadership, communication and organisational skills, alongside experience of managing mental health or wellbeing services and working collaboratively across statutory and voluntary sector organisations. The postholder will participate in an on-call rota and will be required to work on site within Gloucestershire. Travel across the county may also be required.
