About this role
The Role
- To provide light-touch, person-centred support, to the client who lives independently and works locally. The individual has a learning disability and epilepsy and benefits from reassurance, support with confidence-building tasks, and help to manage certain practical aspects of day-to-day life. The PA will promote the client’s independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
Main Duties
- Provide reassurance and support following seizures, ensuring they feels safe and steady.
- Support them with reading, understanding, and responding to letters, bills, and basic correspondence.
- Assist with confidence-building tasks such as planning simple journeys, attending appointments, or accessing community activities.
- Promote healthy routines and offer light support around meal choices (promoting them to cook using ingredients rather than ready meals would be advantageous).
- Encourage and enable them to stay organized with appointments, reminders, and household tasks.
- Support safe community engagement, such as accompanying them on local outings where reassurance may be needed. Support using public transport.
- Provide friendly emotional support to help them to manage anxiety relating to bills, housing, and health.

Hours
4 hours per week with the potential to increase to 10 hours per week and to be ideally worked at weekends and mornings.
Pay
£17.50 per hour Employed
£20.00 per hour Self - Employed
