Personal assistant required for a twelve-year-old girl with cerebral palsy and hearing loss who lives in Truro.

1 support for a twelve-year-old girl with cerebral palsy and hearing loss, living in Truro.
She is looking for someone with whom she can build a positive, trusting relationship while supporting her to access enjoyable, safe activities in the community and further develop her independence.
She has some mobility limitations and may use a walking frame, walking sticks or a wheelchair, depending on her needs.
The role will involve supporting her with suitable activities, offering emotional reassurance, and helping her navigate a period of significant change in her life.

Hours
- Six flexible hours per week
- Primarily to provide cover for the current PA during annual leave and school holidays
Pay
- Starting from £13.00 per hour during an initial training period
- Potential for increased pay for the right candidate, depending on skills and experience
Requirements
- Full driving licence desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of, or personal experience supporting young people with special educational needs would be beneficial
- A caring, patient and supportive nature is essential
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
