About this role

We are looking for motivated health care support workers to join our team and support the registered nurses. You will be delivering high quality care to babies, children, young people and their families within the children's outpatient setting and child development centre. It is a busy department supporting multiple specialities and allied health care professionals. We also have a well established phlebotomy clinic.

You will have experience of working in a hospital environment or have worked with children within another setting.

We are a friendly forward thinking unit providing a high standard of care to our patients.

Shifts are 9 hours. 0800-1730 Monday to Friday for Outpatients

1. Welcoming children and families to the department

2. Assisting with children attending & returning from theatre

3. Weighing and measuring children

4. Assisting with medical day care procedures

5. Communicating well with the multi-disciplinary team and families involved in their child's care

6. Chaperoning clinical procedures

7. Opportunities for paediatric phlebotomy training.

UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview.

This service has a planned opening of a children's Outpatient service on the Bournemouth site in 2027, whilst also providing a service on the Poole site.

If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
