We are a trusted SEN education recruitment agency, working in partnership with a range of specialist schools across Newton Abbot. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to support pupils aged 5-11 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The schools we work with provide a rich, engaging curriculum that includes outdoor learning, enrichment activities, forest school experiences, and a strong focus on emotional literacy, communication, and personal development.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them to engage positively with their learning and daily routines.

Provide 1

1 or 2:1 support in a nurturing and structured environment

  • Support pupils with EHCPs to access learning and develop key life skills
  • Deliver and support engaging learning, enrichment, and community-based activities
  • Act as a positive role model, helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and social skills
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure holistic support

Throughout the day, you will support pupils in their learning, take part in enrichment activities, and accompany them on community-based experiences. At the end of the day, you will support safe transitions home, helping to ensure a consistent, positive, and structured routine for each pupil.

  • Experience working within a SEN or specialist education setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Flexible, reliable, and proactive approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
  • Team Teach or Positive Behaviour Management training is desirable, but not essential
