A welcoming and supportive specialist setting in Exeter is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with additional needs, helping them to feel safe, engaged, and confident throughout their school day.

This position is ideal for someone with previous experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or learning difficulties.

Due to the nature of the role and travel requirements, applicants must be a driver with access to their own vehicle.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will

Provide 1

1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs

  • Support students with EHCPs to access learning and daily routines
  • Build positive relationships that encourage confidence and emotional wellbeing
  • Assist with behaviour regulation and social development
  • Adapt classroom activities and resources under teacher guidance
  • Encourage communication, independence, and engagement in learning
  • Support pupils both inside and outside of the classroom environment
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and senior staff
  • Help create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment

Your support will play a vital role in helping pupils achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

We are looking for someone who

  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEND
  • Has a patient, caring, and resilient approach
  • Is confident supporting individuals with a range of additional needs
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively
  • Is comfortable supporting personal care where required
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one
  • £14.15 per hour
