About this role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the nurse led Dorset Bowel Cancer Screening Centre. You will join a highly skilled, motivated team delivering Bowel Cancer population screening to Dorset. Dorset residents are offered screening from ages fifty years up until seventy five years. Enabling the early detection and treatment of colorectal cancers. Successful candidates will be employed by University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Poole Hospital site. There will be an expectation that you travel to three other screening sites within Dorset.
The successful candidate will provide expert knowledge, high quality care and psychological support to Dorset Bowel Cancer Screening subjects and their families.
This role requires NMC Registration
Base Location
Poole Hospital, though you will be required to work across site. This includes Christchurch, Royal Bournemouth Hospital and at Dorset Healthcare.

The successful candidate will support subjects through the screening pathway including
- assessing subjects fitness for colonoscopy,
- supporting subjects to make informed choices,
- delivering healthy life style advice,
- reviewing and actioning investigation results including histopathology an delivering investigation results
- ensuring subjects outcomes are correct.
UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview.
If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
