About this role

What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Creative in the way he/she works and able to support students with a range of SEND needs
  • Experience of working with students in an educational setting
  • Training and/or experience in specialist social and emotional intervention work such as ELSA, Thrive and therapeutic Mentoring would be an advantage.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to enable students to access the curriculum
  • The ability to work in partnership with teachers to facilitate student learning
  • The ability to ensure that the wellbeing, behaviour and personal development of individual students enhances their learning and life skills

Required enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant(s) to support the education of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health, Difficulties (SEMHD) at Pathways Learning Centre. The role is to work flexibly across key stages, working with a class or group of students under the direction of the class teacher and/or Intervention Manager.

What the school offers its staff

Pathways Learning Centre provides short stay education and therapeutic support for students between Key Stage 1 – 4; who are unable to access mainstream provision for a variety of reasons. The successful applicant will join adynamic, enthusiastic team, totally committed to supporting some of the most vulnerable students in South Gloucestershire.

Please note, this is a fixed term contract until 31 August 2027, subject to a review of pupil numbers.
