About this role
YMCA Cornwall is seeking a dynamic and experienced Managing Director to lead our organisation in delivering essential services to young people age 16-24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
You will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction of the organisation, particularly in relation to housing for young people. You will work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure that YMCA Cornwall achieves its goals, maintains high standards, and operates efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement a clear vision for YMCA Cornwall, aligning with our mission and values.
Operational and Service Management
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organisation, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services, particularly those relating to the housing function which is the key element within our service provision.
Financial Leadership
Manage the organisation’s finances responsibly, ensuring sustainability and growth.
Community Engagement
Build strong relationships with local partners, funders, and stakeholders.
People, Leadership and Culture
Inspire and motivate a dedicated team to achieve organisational goals in line with YMCA values.
Ideal Candidate
A proven track record in a senior leadership role.
Strong understanding of the needs and challenges facing the Cornish community.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young people.
A commitment to ethical and sustainable practices.
