Stoke Bishop CofE Primary School is a friendly and thriving two-form entry primary school in North West Bristol. We are a single academy trust and our school's vision is "Believing it's Possible." We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and friendly team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and leaders to support high-quality teaching and learning, including providing whole-class cover when required.

The role will include

Providing whole-class cover during PPA, other short-term teacher absences and subject leader release time.Teaching a specialist subject across the primary phase (eg PE / Computing / Music / Art / MFL).Supporting teaching and learning across the curriculum

Delivering learning activities to individuals, groups and whole classes

Providing support to pupils with SEND and delivering interventionsPromoting positive behaviour and inclusion in line with our ethos and policies

Supporting pupils’ wellbeing, progress and personal developmentEngaging in relevant CPD related to the role.The position is for 32.5 hours per week over 5 days (8.30am to 4pm, with a one hour lunch break)We are looking for people who like to contribute and see the impact of their work, both with children and colleagues. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and interests both as part of the teaching team and as an individual.

SALARY AND WORKING ARRANGEMENTS BG9 salary scale £32,061 to £34,434 pa (Actual salary £24,628 to £26,451) 32.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4pm (with a one hour lunchbreak) term time only + inset days

Contract term

Fixed term contract from 1st September 2026 to 31st August 2027, with the possibility of this being extended.
