This is a crucial role at the centre of the academy’s day‑to‑day functioning, ensuring that attendance is robustly monitored and that all lessons are effectively staffed each day.This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and wants to make a direct impact on student outcomes and school operations.About the RoleYou will lead on attendance and daily cover coordination, supporting the smooth running of the academy from the start of each school day. This varied and high‑responsibility role includes:Attendance & Student SupportLeading daily attendance processes, including first‑day absence callsMaintaining accurate attendance records in line with statutory requirements Monitoring pupil attendance and identifying those at risk of persistent absence Working with families to improve attendance and remove barriersConducting attendance meetings and, where appropriate, home visitsCover CoordinationManaging and coordinating daily staff cover across Years 7–11 Deploying internal staff and organising external supply where requiredProducing and distributing the daily cover list Responding to in‑day changes to ensure continuity of learningStaff Absence MonitoringActing as the central point for recording all staff absenceMaintaining accurate absence records on Bromcom and supporting reporting to leaders Supporting operational planningSafeguarding & ComplianceFollowing up absence promptly, ensuring safeguarding concerns are identified Supporting attendance escalation processes, including penalty notices and legal procedures Liaising with external agencies and the Local Authority where requiredData & SystemsMaintaining accurate data and producing attendance reportsSupporting audits, inspections, and compliance requirementsThe Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who is:Highly organised and detail‑orientatedCalm under pressure, particularly in early morning operational periodsAn excellent communicator, able to build positive relationships with staff, students and familiesConfident using IT systems, including MIS (Bromcom desirable)Able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environmentProactive, resilient, and solution‑focusedCommitted to safeguarding and supporting student outcomesDesirableExperience working in a school environmentKnowledge of attendance systems, processes, or legislationExperience coordinating cover or managing complex schedulesWhat We OfferAt Oasis Academy Brightstowe, you will be part of a supportive and ambitious school community.
