1 Teaching Assistant, supporting a pupil with Moderate Learning Difficulties to thrive both academically and personally. The Role
In this role, you will work closely with teaching staff, the Head of Learning Success and external specialists to deliver an individualised programme of support in line with the pupil’s EHCP. You will help the child access the curriculum, develop independence, and build social and emotional understanding, while contributing to assessment, planning and communication with parents. The pupil is currently in Year 4 and is likely to require 1:1 support through to Year 8. The position is linked to external funding.
Hours
20 hours per week, Monday to Friday (including INSET days)
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 08:30-13:00
Tuesdays, Thursdays 08:45-12:00
Contract
Permanent, term-time only
Salary
£10,168 per annum (including paid holiday entitlement)
Start date
As soon as possible, no later than Tuesday 1 September 2026

About You
We are looking for someone who brings
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), plus GCSE English and Maths
Experience supporting children with additional needs, particularly cognition and learning difficulties and speech and language challenges
Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, proactive approach
Excellent communication with children, colleagues, parents and external professionals
Confidence with IT for resource creation and record‑keeping (experience with WidgetOnline is desirable but not essential)
A positive, solution‑focused attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting children’s development
