We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Families Worker (Children) to support children and their families within our church community. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering positive development and well-being for families and their children. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and their families through engaging activities, groups and courses.
Responsibilities
Develop, lead and grow a vibrant and sustainable families ministry within the church at Immanuel and the local community in Southbourne.
Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote social, emotional, and developmental growth for children and support families in exploring Christian faith in accessible and creative ways.
Monitor children's progress and well-being, maintaining accurate records of interactions and group attendance.
Support children in developing life skills and confidence.
Work collaboratively with churches of other denominations in Southbourne, Bournemouth and Christchurch
Organise group sessions or workshops aimed at enhancing family engagement and child development through Christian teaching.
Skills
Experience working with children in a supportive or educational capacity.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
Organised with strong organisational skills to manage multiple aspects of the role effectively.
Empathetic listener who demonstrates patience and understanding.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

The role has a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) to be a practising Christian. A DBS check at enhanced plus level is required for this role. The hours are 27 per week, to include Sunday morning (3 Sundays a month).
