Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive primary school in Bristol. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children's learning and development in a classroom setting.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of lessons, assist pupils with their learning, and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities
  • Assisting pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
  • Helping to prepare classroom resources and learning materials
  • Supporting pupils with varying abilities, including those with additional needs (SEND/SEMH)
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining a focused learning environment
  • Promoting pupils' confidence, independence, and engagement
  • Supporting classroom organisation and daily routines
  • Assisting during break times, transitions, and school activities
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
  • Upholding safeguarding, welfare, and child protection procedures at all times
  • Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
  • A positive, proactive, and supportive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (child workforce), or willingness to apply
