What skills and experience we're looking for

Connect Academy Trust is looking to appoint highly skilled HLTA’s to support the children's learning. The role will include delivering interventions and covering classes during planned or unplanned teacher absence. This would be an ideal role for an aspiring teacher or a recently qualified teacher wishing to gain more classroom experience.

As part of your role you may be required to

  • cover teacher or support staff absence, e.g. for sickness absence, courses etc;
  • plan, manage and deliver interventions across a key stage;
  • cover the class to allow a teacher to run interventions;
  • attend meetings as required sometimes at the start or end of a school day
  • plan, teach and evaluate lessons daily with some support from teachers (Y6 Intervention HLTA) ;
  • assess and mark work completed with teaching groups and classes
