Fixed term contract for 4 months - June to September 2026
We have an exciting opportunity for a new operative to work within a small, friendly, crucial service as part of the StreetScene department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of looking after the streetscape ensuring the key areas are clean and look their best for everyone to enjoy. Typical tasks include litter picking, sweeping, digging out, ensuring litter bins are not overflowing and liaising with public in this key public facing role.
One of areas that this operative will be attending is Dartmouth and another operative will be attending to both Kingsbridge and Salcombe travelling between two towns daily. The working days will be Thursday to Monday including Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 10:00 and 18:00 with a 30min lunch break.
The applicant must be hardworking, able to work on their own initiative and within a team. You will enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions, be physically fit, have good communications skills and appreciate job satisfaction and completion.
Full PPE and training will be provided as part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving a competent workforce. As part of our flexible approach you may be required to work anywhere within South Hams and West Devon but will operate out of our Torr Quarry depot.
