School Shop Supervisor

About this role

We are seeking a customer-focused School Shop Supervisor to support the smooth day-to-day running of our Senior School Shop.

Working with the Shop Manager, you will supervise staff, help maintain high standards of customer service and assist with the organisation of sales, stock and cash handling in a busy retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operation of the school shop and support the Shop Manager.
  • Oversee staff rotas, day-to-day supervision and customer service standards.
  • Support cash handling, basic financial processes and end-of-day procedures.
  • Assist with stock control, displays, sales activity and seasonal uniform periods.
  • Liaise with colleagues, departments, suppliers and parents as required.

About You

  • Experience supervising staff in a retail or customer facing environment.
  • Strong customer service focus with the ability to maintain high standards.
  • Confident managing rotas, timesheets and day to day staff matters.
  • Experience of cash handling, reconciliations and basic financial processes.
  • Organised and numerate, with good IT skills (including spreadsheets and retail systems).
  • Clear communicator, able to liaise effectively with colleagues, suppliers, departments and parents.

Hours and Benefits

This is a full-time, year-round role working 8.15am to 4.45pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend working at key times of the year.

The salary for this role is £26,442 per annum, along with a generous benefits package including freshly prepared lunches for just £10.30 per month, free parking, access to the school facilities and discounts/cashback on high street shops and restaurants through the school’s Employee Assistance Programme.
