An office-based role in the Marjon Sports Centre facility.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who sees sport in all its greatness – from fun all the way through to competitive, so wants to help deliver an outstanding program to our students to enhance their student experience. This means we are looking for a forward-thinking candidate that can work flexibly within the sporting season and cultivate innovative ideas in the off season. Strong organisational skills and clear communication are key attributes as you will be working with both students and staff to foster an inclusive approach to sport within the university.

What you’d be doing

Your days will vary as you support our scholars with monthly catch ups and liaise with lecturers and course leads to assist with both academic and sporting excellence. Being the first point of contact for all things BUCS, you will administer a range of sporting calendars and will need to communicate with varying stakeholders within the Sport and Health department to ensure that all teams are fully aware of fixtures, facility requirements and any changes to this. You will assist the Student Sport and Physical Activity Manager to deliver key events through the year, including non-competitive sport and support for the wider university team so time management is key.

You’ll need to enjoy

Communicating with others (in person, over the phone or by email), engaging with technology (including social media), providing excellent customer service, quickly building rapport with colleagues/students and learning about a wide range of sports.

Where you’ll work

In this role, you’ll be based in the Sports Federation Office working alongside a host of different departments and enjoying our green campus in the north of Plymouth.

In order to be successful in this role, you will be required to work on site however some flexibility is available with working hours to suit the right candidate.
