Streetworks Technician

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Somerset to assist with the appointment of a Streetworks Technician, on a 7-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay

£13.47 - £17.82 per hour

Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Street Works Technician to join a friendly highways team supporting the coordination of streetworks and highway activities across Somerset. This role is ideal for someone looking to start or develop a career within highways, traffic management, or public services, with full training provided.

Responsibilities

Assist with assessing Streetworks permits and network coordination activities

Provide basic technical support and advice with guidance from senior colleagues

Use digital systems, mapping tools, and databases to manage information

Respond to emails and support day-to-day administrative tasks

Prepare maps, reports, plans, and tables

Carry out accuracy checks and maintain records

Essential Requirements

Strong communication and customer service skills

Good organisational skills and ability to manage changing priorities

Confident using ICT systems and Microsoft Office packages

Willingness to learn new systems and processes

Positive and enthusiastic approach to work

Full UK driving licence
