What the school offers its staff

Twerton Nursery & Infant School is a 2-form entry infant school with an onsite Nursery for 2 and 3 year olds. We are an LA Maintained school, and we work closely with 6 other primary schools, in BANES and Somerset, within the South Gloucester Learning Alliance, which provides wide-ranging support and CPD. The school has a long-established reputation for being both inclusive and responsive to children’s individual needs.

We have an excellent on-site Forest School, providing fantastic outdoor learning for all children, including those with additional needs. We also follow the Thrive approach, which supports children’s wellbeing and mental health. Our motto is ‘Play, learn, grow; live well together”.

We are one of seven schools in BANES who have taken part in the St John’s Primary Empowerment Programme which has enabled us to work closely over a sustained period of time with key delivery partners:

  • Ruth Miskin Education
  • Brighter Futures
  • White Rose Maths
  • HCRG Care Group (Speech and Language)
  • Language for Life
  • Voice 21

We also enjoy close community links and receive support from

  • Bath Recreation – additional PE provision.
  • Bath City Football Club – Play Support and afterschool club

We have an engaging and creative Curriculum, and we are continuing to develop Language for Life in the nursery and use Drawing Club and Curious Quests throughout the school.
