We have an exciting opportunity to join Ourway Care as a Roving Support Worker.
This rewarding and varied role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference in peoples lives. We are looking for a caring, adaptable and proactive individual who enjoys working with a diverse range of clients and can confidently provide high-quality support in different environments. The successful candidate will be someone who can build positive relationships, promote independence and remain calm and professional in a variety of situations.
As a Roving Support Worker, no two days are the same. You will be supporting individuals with varying needs, including complex care requirements, helping them to live safely, independently and with dignity in their own homes and within the community. This role would suit someone who is flexible, enjoys travelling between placements, can work independently as well as part of a team, and is committed to delivering person-centred care of the highest standard.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable and compassionate, with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills. You should be comfortable adapting to changing situations, covering our clients across the county, available to work across a flexible rota and willing to develop your knowledge and skills within complex care.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
o Providing personal care and practical support
o Supporting with daily living tasks, household duties and paperwork
o Administering medication and supporting healthcare needs
o Supporting clients to access social, leisure and community activities
o Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals and family members
o Maintaining accurate records and ensuring confidentiality at all times
o Promoting independence, wellbeing and inclusion
PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL
o Positive, professional attitude with excellent communication skills
o Previous care experience
o Full UK Driving Licence
o Flexible, reliable and willing to travel
o Ability to work at short notice when required
o Commitment to developing skills within complex care
PREFERRED
o Experience in complex community care
o Knowledge of spinal injuries and neurological conditions
o Calm, patient and outgoing personality

As a Roving Support Worker you will receive full in-house training in the specific needs of each of our clients from our dedicated team. Our comprehensive training program will deliver blended learning of face to face classroom and online sessions.
THE ROLE
As a Roving Support Worker, you will support the Care Manager and Registered Manager in providing safe and effective delivery of care services across Cornwall.
You will be trained to meet each client's individual needs and be available, potentially at short notice, to support any Ourway Care clients with their day-to-day living, promoting their independence and supporting them to live a fulfilled life, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting each client to safely lead a fulfilling and more independent life by
o Provide practical support for your client and their family, such as helping with personal care, household tasks and paperwork
o Assist and encourage your client to engage in everyday home, social, leisure and work activities, according to the individuals choice
o Support and monitor your clients healthcare needs, including administering medication and other clinical tasks
o Help your clients to access community facilities and be included in community groups, if they so wish
o Understand their communication needs and adapt your own communication style accordingly
o Keep accurate, up to date records of all the care you provide
o Work positively with other professionals, such as doctors and therapists, to ensure consistency of support
o Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
o Participate in learning and development opportunities as required
