1 SEND Intervention Workers to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a one-to-one setting, ensuring they receive the tailored support they require to thrive academically and personally.

As a Flexible 1

1 SEND Intervention Worker, you will be based in Plymouth, Devon or Cornwall and will work closely with teaching staff, SEND coordinators, and other professionals to develop and implement comprehensive intervention plans. Your primary focus will be to provide personalised support to students, addressing their unique learning needs and helping them to overcome any barriers they may face.

The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of SEND, with the ability to adapt their approach to suit the individual needs of each student. You will be a skilled communicator, capable of building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues alike. Additionally, you will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

In this flexible role, you will be responsible for providing 1:1 support to a SEND student for anything from 2-12 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours as needed with other learners. The hourly rate for this position is £19.50, which reflects our commitment to attracting and retaining top-quality talent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and identify the specific learning needs of SEND students, in collaboration with the SEND coordinator and teaching staff
  • Develop and implement tailored intervention plans to address each student's unique challenges and support their academic and personal development
  • Deliver one-to-one support sessions, using a variety of evidence-based teaching methods and strategies to engage and motivate students
  • Monitor and track student progress, regularly updating the SEND coordinator and teaching staff on the student's development
  • Liaise with parents/carers, providing regular feedback and updates on the student's progress and collaborating on next steps
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, interventions, and any relevant information
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and safeguarding protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of the students in your care

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in education, special education, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with SEND students or in a childrens care role
  • Thorough understanding of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Proficient in using technology and digital tools to support student learning and record-keeping
  • Committed to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and adapt
