Due to new investment an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join the Paediatric Occupational Therapy Team based at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
As part of this forward thinking and innovative team you will be responsible for the development and delivery of highly specialised Occupational Therapy services to children & young people underthe care of the regional oncology team. As the Occupational Therapy lead in this area the post holder will be responsible for the day-to day service delivery over a variety of settings. You will provide specialist assessment, intervention and consultation, liaising with families and external agencies involved in their care.You will also be a valued member of the wider specialist OT team, providing clinical support and education to more junior staff and become a source of expertise both locally and nationally.
We are looking for an innovative, inclusive clinician who is passionate about delivering a high-quality patient centred service, someone with advanced clinical and leadership skills, who is confident to challenge current practice and ensure that our patients receive up-to-date evidence-based treatments. In-service training programmes & staff appraisal systems are in operation to support your development to enable you to meet the demands of the post.
· Provide a highly specialised Occupational Therapy service including assessment treatment and management to maximise performance of daily occupations and enhance quality of life for children and young people under the care of the Paediatric Oncology and BMT Service.
· To be a core member of the Oncology MDT, playing a key role in the development, planning and progression of service provision.
· To act as a source of expertise and demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience in the highly skilled management of children and young people with an oncology diagnosis.
· To provide specialist advice and clinical education to other members of the multi-disciplinary team, presenting at local and national meetings.
· Totake responsibility for the daily operational delivery of the oncology service, providing clinical leadership and direct clinical supervision to junior staff and supporting the wider Paediatric Occupational Therapy Team as required
Bristol Royal Hospital for Children is a specialised tertiary centre, taking the most complex referrals from both local and national centres.
