About this role

Clinical Responsibilities Undertake face-to-face consultations, telephone consultations, triage calls and home visits in accordance with the Practice timetable. Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions. Provide appropriate treatment, advice, counselling and health education to patients. Respond to medical problems presented by temporary residents where required. Develop and implement care plans in line with Practice disease management protocols. Support the management of chronic disease conditions and preventative healthcare initiatives. Refer patients appropriately for further opinions, investigations and interventions in accordance with Practice protocols. Maintain accurate, contemporaneous and appropriate consultation records. Prescribe safely and effectively in line with local and national prescribing guidance. Process repeat prescriptions, pathology results, clinical correspondence and associated paperwork in a timely manner. Participate in the education and training of medical students where appropriate. Undertake all duties expected of a GP working within primary care. Clinical Governance and Quality Maintain and update clinical records and databases accurately to support QOF and Enhanced Services requirements. Use appropriate clinical coding systems. Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement activity and significant event reviews. Contribute to practice performance monitoring and reporting requirements. Attend practice meetings and other relevant forums as required. Support adherence to the Practice complaints procedure and governance framework. Maintain current mandatory training including CPR, anaphylaxis and safeguarding competencies. Teaching and training of students, doctors and nurses. Communication and Teamworking Work collaboratively with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team. Communicate effectively with patients, carers and healthcare professionals. Recognise and respond appropriately to patients requiring alternative methods of communication. Contribute positively to a supportive and inclusive working environment. Attending training, Practice Meetings and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate. Participation in an annual individual performance review, annual GP Appraisal including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development for Revalidation. Taking responsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work About You We are looking for a clinician who: Is fully registered with the GMC and included on the GP Register. Holds a licence to practise in the UK. Demonstrates excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Has strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care. Works effectively both independently and as part of a team. Understands the importance of confidentiality, safeguarding and clinical governance. Has knowledge and is competent of using TPP Systm one. Is committed to continuing professional development and quality improvement.
