MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The particular duties of the After-School Play Leader will be determined by the Head Teacher/Deputy and /or SENDCo and will be arranged to meet the needs of the School and pupil(s) being supported. This may include working with pupils with a statement of special educational needs.
  • Lead the day-to-day organisation and running of the after-school provision
  • Create a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children
  • Plan and deliver engaging indoor and outdoor activities suitable for primary-aged children
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families and staff
  • Promote exceptional behaviour through clear routines, high expectations and positive interactions
  • Ensure children are safe, happy and well supervised at all times
  • Support children’s social development, independence and wellbeing through play and enrichment opportunities
  • Organise resources and maintain a stimulating environment
  • Follow all safeguarding, health and safety and school policies and procedures
  • Communicate professionally with parents and carers at collection times
  • Work collaboratively with the wider school team to ensure consistency with the school ethos and values

Support with snack preparation and maintaining a clean, organised provision space

  • Contribute to “The Best Chance of Success” ethos of the school.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant training, as available.
