Kier Natural Resources is looking for an Operations Director to provide leadership and support for our growing Water business portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our operations, working with valued clients including South West Water, Wessex Water, Bristol Water, and Bournemouth Water. You'll be joining us at a pivotal time as we grow from £420m to circa £550m, playing a key role in delivering complex civil engineering and capital projects across the south of the UK.
What will you be responsible for?
As an Operations Director, you'll be working within the Water team, supporting them in delivering strategic growth and operational excellence. Your day to day will include:
-Leading Framework and Contract Directors to deliver business plan targets whilst managing risk and maximising opportunities
-Championing health, safety, quality, and technical excellence across all operations
-Building and nurturing strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders to position Kier as the leading supplier in the water sector
-Managing budgets and ensuring contracts exceed profit, cash, and revenue targets
-Developing high-performing teams and fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and wellbeing
What are we looking for?
This role of Operations Director is great for you if
-You have experience leading large, complex infrastructure projects, ideally within the water or wastewater industry
-You can demonstrate a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
-You possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels
-You're passionate about building collaborative relationships with clients, teams, and stakeholders
-You have strong knowledge of project management methodologies, risk management, and construction practices
